Abstract: 

در چارچوب مدل بستگی قوی و یک روش تابع گرین تعمیم یافته، برخی از خواص رسانندگی مهم مولکول DNA در ساختار Metal/DNA/Metal (که باختصار M/D/M نامیده می شود) بعنوانیک سیم مولکولی را بصورت عددی بررسی می کنیم. با استفاده از مدل استخوان ماهی برای مولکول DNA و کاربرد روش لانداور برای محاسبه رسانندگی سیستم، نتایج ما نشان میدهد که: 1- رسانندگی سیم مولکولی با افزایش طول مولکول DNA بصورت نمایی کاهش مییابد. 2- افزایش قدرت پیوندگاه فلز - مولکول منجر به افزایش قابل ملاحظه ای در رسانندگی از ساختار M/D/M میشود. 3- رسانندگی سیم مولکولی تابعی از اندازه افت ولتاژ (در رژیم خطی) در طول مولکول بوده و تا رسیدن ولتاژ به حد اشباع، به مقدار بیشینه خود نزدیک می شود.

Abstract: 

The paper attempts to evaluate and measure the effect of Globalization on Iranian Basic Metal Industries in terms of technical efficiency, volume of export, and value added amount. To this end, two indexes i.e. Level of International trade (LIT) and Integration of International Trade (IIT) are used.The findings indicate that Globalization will have positive effects on technical efficiency, volume of exports and value added of the Basic Metal industries.In other words, while promoting technical efficiency, globalization will increase exports and value added of the Basic Metal Industries, which are among the upstream Industries.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The future of the construction Industry is increasingly influenced by new technologies. In order to adopt appropriate strategies in facing new technologies, it is necessary to know the possible futures of the construction Industry. This research was done with the aim of explaining the technological uncertainties and compiling the future scenarios of the construction Industry.  Method: The research method is applied and was carried out with a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. First, the library study was used to determine the technological drivers, then the Structural Analysis was used to explain the technological uncertainties, and finally, the Schwartz method was used to compile the scenarios. The statistical population is experts of construction Industry. Findings: Nine technological uncertainties affecting the future of the construction Industry have been identified and for each of them, three states of decline, stagnation and progress have been considered. Data analysis by Scenario Wizard shows eight probable scenarios. The portfolio of scenarios including four groups of progress scenarios, towards progress, towards stagnation, and towards wane has been compiled. Conclusion: In the progress scenario, the 89% of uncertainties have developed. In  towards progress, 56% of the factors are in the development status, which indicates the development of the technological factor application. In the stagnation scenario, no progress has been made in the application of uncertainties and they are in a static state. In towards wane, uncertainties have been placed in a situation of reduced use.

Abstract: 

A B S T R A C T Transformations such as globalization, the contiguity of geographical spaces, as well as developments in the field of military technologies have transformed the issue of defense as the main factor for the survival of countries. Because the transformation from hard to soft war and then the smart war in recent decades has changed the approaches to defense. These transformations have led to the development of discussions about defense purposes. Meanwhile, Middle East countries have a prominent position and importance in terms of defense due to their special conditions. This article has tried to investigate the Basic dimensions affecting the defense of foreign countries with descriptive and analytical methods, using library and field findings and Smart-PLS software. The results of the current research show that the effective components in the current research include 130 items that are placed in the form of 15 dimensions. The importance of these dimensions in defense of the Middle East countries is, respectively, geopolitical dimension with a 0.43 score, military dimension with a 0.41 score, economic dimension with a 0.41 score, political dimension with a 0.39 score, hydrology dimension with a 0.34 score, security dimension with a 0.32 score, social dimension with a 0.29 score, demographic dimension with a 0.28 score, cultural dimension with a 0.26 score, scientific-health dimension with a 0.25 score, geomorphological dimension with a 0.25 score, mathematical dimension with a 0.2 score, climatic dimension with a 0.2 score, biological dimension with a 0.2 score and soil dimension with a 0.18 score. Extended Abstract Introduction Security and defense are among the most vital issues for the preservation and survival of countries. In fact, defense and military affairs are necessary for countries' independence and political, cultural and economic development. Among them, geography and political geography are prominent fields that directly affect defense issues. Actions taken by a country in dimensions (political, military, economic, etc.) in order to maintain security and territorial integrity, guarantee independence and protection of its people against any enemy attack, will organize the geographical (spatial) environment, wise and appropriate distribution of critical places and sensitive centers and infrastructures are identified by taking into account the threats and the correct use of environmental capacities in political, economic, social, cultural, etc. dimensions, and as a result, it can lead to stability and stability in the country's geographical space. The design of defense planning model according to the economic, cultural, political and environmental features in the new era when countries are facing external and internal threats as a sub-branch of territorial planning has received the attention and importance of officials and governance systems in order to be able to reduce these threats with accurate and systematic planning in the geographical space, defense planning is not separate from the flow of national and regional planning. It is important to pay attention to it based on the type and amount of external and internal threats to governance. Due to the expansion of the security circle, the government is not only responsible for creating military security. However, it must also exercise part of its authority in the direction of territorial management. On the other hand, there has been a transformation in the form of threats and wars based on changes and the movement from hard to soft war and finally, smart war is the basis for reviewing and recognizing the components that can be used in defense of countries, including the Middle East countries, have a prominent position and importance. Despite the internal differences between countries, the Middle East has commonalities and connections that can directly affect the overall defense of this geographical space.   Methodology In terms of type and purpose, the current research is fundamentally applied. Also, it is descriptive and analytical in terms of nature. This research, in addition to the correct and realistic depiction of the defense situation of the Middle East countries, it is tried to provide a suitable model for the defense of the countries. The sources used in the current research are library and field sources (questionnaires). According to the subject of the current research, the statistical population of this research is a collection of people, experts and elites who have sufficient knowledge, experience and expertise regarding the research topic, which is the design of the defense model, according to the nature of the Delphi pattern model, at least the statistical population based on the sources should be between twenty and fifty people to reach statistical saturation. The number of selected samples included 51 people who were identified in the form of a non-random sampling pattern and introduced as a statistical sample in the framework of the Delphi model. Due to the qualitative nature of this research, it has been tried to use the Delphi model in the framework of the targeted non-random model. Therefore, based on these cases, the current research has selected the maximum statistical population of 51 elites, experts, and opinionated people in this field. In this research, to evaluate the research hypotheses in the form of the hardness equations model, the partial least squares method and the SMART-PLS software, which is a variance-based path modeling technique and provides the possibility of checking the theory and metrics simultaneously, have been exerted.   Results and discussion In this research, approaches such as political, military, cultural, etc., in the field of land use have been discussed. In the meantime, the defense of countries as an emerging approach is significant. According to the developments in geographical spaces, such as the evolution of military-defense technologies, the connection of geographical spaces to each other and most importantly, the movement from hard and soft war to smart war has witnessed a transformation and wide attention in a way that countries are suited to these developments are trying to prepare the geographical space of their country in terms of defense. Therefore, the defense planning of the Middle East countries as a geographical region has great importance from a geopolitical and strategic point of view, which indicates that the countries of this region face threats and complex defense-security issues in different ways.   Conclusion The results of the present research show that the defense planning in developing countries should be considered according to their characteristics, considering all 15 dimensions, which include 130 components. In the design of the defense planning of these countries, attention should be paid to the weight and importance of the shaping dimensions. In general, it can be said that the defense planning of the Middle East countries is proportional to the geographical features of these countries and on the other hand, considering the developments in the field of threats and moving from hard to smart war, 15 dimensions should be considered for the defense of these countries.   Funding There is no funding support.   Authors’ Contribution Authors contributed equally to the conceptualization and writing of the article. Abstract: 

Background: Unsuitable workplace conditions make problems for workers and have some adverse effects on their health and the quality of production. Recognizing and reducing risk factors related to the work pressure will improve their occupational health and prevent related economic losses of workers. The purpose of this study was to determine workstations status regarding underlying human, occupational and environmental factors responsible for occupational accidents using Finnish questionnaire.Methods: In this cross sectional study, 118 workers from all workstations of a Metal industries company in Isfahan were enrolled. The workstations were evaluated using the Finnish questionnaire which was completed by direct observation and interview. Environmental condition, lighting, noise, and heat stress was measured by means of related instruments.Findings: In 84.7% of workstations, the standard working environment conditions had not been considered. In 13.6% and 15.3%, the method of physical activity and lifting was inappropriate, respectively. In 5.1% of cases, body posture during hard work and the pressure load on arms was inappropriate. In 23.7% of cases, the risk of accident was high. In 52.2% of cases, the worker had limited communication due to work condition. In 89.8% of cases, there was no problem in decision making. Work was repetitive in 33.1% of cases. Lighting was lower than standards in 44% of cases (P<0.05). The WBGT was 29oC. Heat exposure time was lower than standard and there was no heat stress (P<0.05). Noise was higher than standards in 20% of cases.Conclusion: Inappropriate workplace makes problems for implementing the work duties of employees, their health and the quality of companies’ products. Workstation’s conditions, environmental conditions, and posture at work are the underlying factors for occupational accidents and diseases. The results can be used by other Metal Industry companies to provide an appropriate workplace which would improve the occupational health of workers.

Abstract: 

The exports value of Iran's base Metal Industry ranked second among manufacturing industries after the petrochemical Industry. Considering this stylized fact, the aim of the paper is to measure the competitiveness of Iran's base Metal Industry using the data over the period 2002-2005. This study uses Relative Export Advantage (RXA), Relative Trade Advantage (RTA), Constant Market Share (CMS) and Trade Map (TM) indices to measure competitiveness of this Industry.The results of this study indicate that in spite of the existence of comparative advantage at major exportable products of Iran's base Metals, there is no clear and stable trend of the competitive advantage in the products. Furthermore, the growth rate of relative export advantage of the products is fluctuating over the period 2002-2005. The same results have obtained based on trade map index. More specifically, there is no product which maintains competitive position throughout the whole period of this study. Finally, based on the constant market share which indicates the competitive performance of major export products in target markets, the competitive effect has generally no stability in the target markets, and it is frequently observed to have periodical variations in its values. These results are probably due to lack of sufficient attention to the factors of competitive advantage such as quality, efficiency and innovation, higher domestic consumption, higher production factor price. Based on the findings of the study, it is not sufficient to rely only on comparative advantages, but it is highly recommended that the attention should also be paid to competitive advantages.

Abstract: 

Due to the fact that economic globalization process is rapidly expanding, it is apparent that improving in competition through the industries and manufactories is necessary. So one of the important subjects need to study is effects of productivity and efficiency on economy.In this research we assessed and estimated impacts of total productivity and it’s components on Basic Metals Industry of Iranian factories by Data Envelopment Analysis method (DEA) and Malmquist Index index. Using compilation data of industrial workshops which have ten workers or more in, we computed technical improvement, technical efficiency change, net technical efficiency change, measure efficiency change and total productivity change in this Industry. The results show the average yearly productivity growth has been 2.2% during 1386-1374. The average of productivity components, technical efficiency and technology, was have estimated 14% and 86% respectively. It is necessary to mention that determinant factors of technical efficiency that are measure efficiency and net efficiency have had the growth of 21% and -7%. Therefore the most effective factor on total productivity change in Iranian Basic Metals Industry was technical change which indicates a positive annual growth average. (That has experimented as average a yearly positive growth).

Abstract: 

Background and Objective: Urban and industrial development has increased concentration of heavy Metals in the environment. The goal of this study was to assess the impact of Kerman steel complex on their surrounding soil by heavy Metals.Materials and Methods: This study was a snapshot and its type was descriptive analytical research. Heavy Metals contents from 60 soil samples (top soil, 0-15 cm) near two Steel Complexes were analyzed using flame atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). Source identification and pollution degree indices including enrichment factor (EF) and its percentage (EF%), geo-accumulation index (Igeo), contamination factor (Cf), degree of contamination (Cd) and modified degree of contamination (mCd) were calculated to assess the soil pollution level.Results: The average concentration of Ni, Zn, Fe, Pb, Cr and Cd were 9.98, 54.38, 15063.33, 20.86, 3.54 and 0.038 mg/kg, respectively. The order of average EF for heavy Metals was Pb>Zn>Cd>Fe>Ni>Cr. Cf index also showed that 90% of the samples were moderately to significantly polluted with lead element. The results of EF% indicated that Fe (68.18%) had higher enrichment than others. The average values of Cd and mCd indices were 2.90 and 0.48, respectively, that showed low degree of pollution.Conclusion: In this study, Pb and Cd concentration were related with activities of the steel complexes and other Metals had a combination of natural and anthropogenic emission sources. The steel complexes should plan to reduce pollutants emission to their environment.
